Just back from visiting a friend in Saltcoats a few minutes ago brian.

Although it's not 'lit up' as such, Bobby's statue was still quite impressive looking. On a fairly cold evening there were folk stopping to take group pics and selfies etc on their phones etc. If no-one beats me to it I'll try and get a decent daytime photo to post.

Heading to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne tomorrow for a cataract op. Luckily Jamie and family have a spare bed for us just a few minutes away. Been there and done this before!

Nanna's favourite spaghetti sauce will be on the menu for tea with the grandkids insisting - ingredients will be there waiting next to the stove - does this sound familiar when you visit the grandkids.

I'm going back a wee while, but I remember visiting Jim and Margaret (surname escapes me) when they lived at at Laydykes - they then had the saw mill (fencing business down the bottom end of Stevenston off the new road) Just remembered that they have a son who was or still is pretty big in the organ transplant section of this iconic Melbourne hospital.

Hughie, I think the fencing business' you're referring to could be this one - M & J Fencing, Unit 44, Stevenston Industrial Estate, Stevenston. https://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/m-and-j-fencing-stevenston

Should anything turn up in conversation re. your friends surname, I'll post it on here.

Hope the eye op. went well.

Remembered, the name was McClure. Early Friday here, having the eye attended to this afternoon. :puter

I was mistaken, had to have a few more test so I’ll have to wait a few more weeks before the eye is done - it’s not urgent.

Our harmonica band were practising some Christmas tunes the other night, when another member noticed me having a wee grin to myself after we'd finished playing Jingle Bells. Being egged on I sang the words that come to mind from when I was a wee boy singing Jingle Bells. Clears throat...

Oh my uncle Ned he peed the bed my granny did a fart and blew the wee bit candle out and left us in the dark". They had a good laugh at that.

Hot today - 35 degrees. Walked to nearby Woolworths and stepped into the liquor shop cool room to see what was on offer. It was so beautiful in there, never bought anything but it cooled me down for my walk back home.
