Sadly it seems there are those in his country who are war mongering and others who believe the lies he is telling. Get rid of Putin and there will someone else who has been poisoned over the years with anti western propaganda ready to step into his place.

What I'm thinking right now is that I haven't posted on here for a long while, and it's nice to see so many familiar names still on the forum.

Sad to see the passing of that favourite icon, Tina Turner. Member Glenshena mentions Here a connection to local bands.
I did meet her in the 1980s. But did I ask her for a kiss?

I feel a bit stupid asking this.. Over ten years ago i was relaxing with the family having refreshments in a pub in Millport, lovely view and all of a sudden this cruise ship came in to sight heading North. I have always thought about this. Any idea the destination?

Nice to have you back, Liz. I was just thinking the house you lived in the 1960s in McDowall Place was built where my dad had his chicken run, built on his return from WW2.

Coincidence or spooky?
In the 1970s my brother bought a small flat in Wellpark Road for investment purposes, paying the mortgage with the monthly rent.
I recently started corresponding with a farout relation on my mothers side who is interested in geneology, family trees etc, something that I have never had the time to indulge in. She sent me photos and birth certificates, even of my father born in 1915, and HIS parents and their occupations! I noticed that my father was born in Wellpark road, no 49, so when I was in Saltcoats last week I went to see if it was still standing. To my great pleasure It was indeed! I sent a photo to my brother, and lo and behold, would you believe it, without knowing, it was the same house my brother bought in the 70s!!!. No.49!!!! He thinks this coincidence its almost spooky.
I had never met my fathers parents, he never talked about them, and to find out that my grandmothers name was Elizabeth, the name my daughter unknowingly gave HER daughter, was a great satisfaction.

Coincidental, spooky, and an interesting read.

Thanks PT, I do appreciate your support in my families history stories.
Just the fact that babies were being born in homes then and not in hospitals like today makes it even more hard to believe.
