They'll need to be hardy apple trees to survive round there.

Sitting in the Dr's waiting to be seen and thought , " I will post and say to Hughie that I just spoke to his brother in law Peter McGurk "
Peter was out walking as he does and had around 10 crow's flying behind him as usual.
I think they hang around waiting for him as he always has nibbles for them or for any dog he sees.
I was telling him about the caricatures that were on the site and mentioned I have them on my phone so would look them out for next time I see him , which will probably be soon as Peter really enjoys walking and is such a wildlife man and always let's me know about any unusual birds he sees.
It was Peter who mentioned that you were his brother in law Hughie.
Oanyhoo I'm now out the Dr's and off home.
Hopefully a good MOT report will come in :D

Here's a quote about Peter from member Iain in a topic that might interest you.
Click on that thin arrow below to see the whole topic referred to.
iain wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2014 2:51 pm Hughie, I bumped into Peter a few days ago, but it never struck me to ask him about the box. I’ll do so the next time I see him. As you probably know, as well as erecting and maintaining nest boxes at the site, Peter, on his daily visits, puts out bits of bird food on the fence posts as he walks around the reserve. Consequently, any time I’m at the site and stop to have a look at something, the birds assume I’m Peter stopping to put out food and I get accosted by a hungry Robin or two!
Peter and Chris Olson came and lived with us in Oz back in the late sixties. Here's their experiences on that journey.

That was an excellent read that Iain put up about their voyage
Riveting stuff I can remember Chris coming to our house on a Saturday morning most weeks to see if my dad was going for a pint down to the Douglas at the cross.
Martin his brother was always here most weeks , I recall he would sneak me a couple of " bob " or half crown telling me to spend it wisely.
My dad considered at one point on going to Australia as well but changed his mind.
I sometimes wonder how things would have turned out but hey ho no point in dwelling lol.
Thanks for posting the link.
I will be sure to mention it to Peter

I can't remember if i have asked this before, when i used to get the train up to Glasgow, i used to see hundreds of barrels stored outside a building near Dalry or Glengarnock, this was over 40 years ago. Anybody else remember or is it still there ?
There is another bond not far from that one but unseen easiest description is Lochlibo road toward Lugton pass Burnhouse and take a left (before the houses) and guddle away,
I can't remember why I was in there

Question
If a cask of whisky, get broken , who gets called first?

I think there was a Whisky Bottling Plant near to Kilwinning Industrial Estate area in the early to mid 1980's. House of Campbell whisky springs to mind?
As far as I know that was probably the closest one to the Three Town's.

Its happening again .. a mad rush in the supermarket for pasta and cooking oil. Trolleys full to running over. Because Ukraine is our main wheat supplier and there Is likely to be a shortage of pasta from now on.
Only one bottle of cooking oil Is alowed per person. We are advised also to have a stock of tinned foods in the house. Surely It won't come to that.
