Did anyone see Saltcoats on BBC s Nationwide yesterday ?
My brother saw it in Sheffield, pipe bands along the prom and what looked like a Bale of Hay being burnt on the tower.

I asked my next door neighbour in Saltcoats if she had seen any 'street parties' celebrating the jubilee. She said there wasn't as much as a flag to be seen anywhere.

Quote from Istagram 22/5

Today a Gold Hat with a 317 carat diamond and 400 other jewels was take in a custom-made Rolls Royce to a 1.5 billion palace where It was placed on a chair next to one of the world richest men who told two milion hungry britons that there Is no money.

Memories of the Apollo (the old Greens Playhouse) in Glasgow were brought back last night. I was at a sold out performance of Mama Mia at the Kings Theatre - a fantastic show by the way - everyone was on their feet dancing and singing at the finale - so much so that you could feel the balcony moving beneath your feet - bit scary actually. I went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in the Apollo in the 70s and remembered you could actually see the balcony moving when everybody was on their feet. Anyone remember being in the Apollo for a concert and seeing this?

Definitely Meg, I remember being in the upper circle for The Jam, it was scary sometimes you could see the band sometimes you couldn't, the full place was moving.

Finished listening earlier to a riveting hour on Radio 4 - their usual Monday morning 'Start the Week' slot, followed by 'Book of the Week', and featuring a man I'd never heard of, viz., Darren McGarvey. He's a multi-talented Glasgow boy in writing, poetry, music, history, and more. A revelation.

They did well - good that it was on neutral ground. They'll have to play well to get through from the group they are in.
They're in Group D. Here's the rankings:
France 3
Denmark 11
Tunisia 35
Australia 42

We are 7 hours ahead of Qatar.
