It would be great to see the photograph. I forgot about the Finlays and also the Denvers and that reminded me of Findlay Denver. I wonder if he is still in the three towns.

I see something on old maps called "Ann's lodge" across the road from Loup cottage which we always called " the orchard". Could it have served this house in the early 19th century?
A warm welcome to you, Largsfairlie. Spent many a day down there with my pals when we were wee :hi:

Just beyond Loup Cottage, as the road veered to the right was a gated-field pathway to where we used to camp. The area was known to us as the "Camels humps". Others may have known it as the "The Viaduct".

Just love to see old topics being rejuvenated by new members. :D

Found the photo at last, now I just have to sweet-talk Hugh to get him to post it for me.

At last, we have managed to get the photo on the forum, Campbell.
Hope you can recognise some of the faces.

Netta,

What a tremendous photo. I don't think I was ever at the greasy pole on a summer's afternoon without some of that group being around. Although I recognise some of them I'll leave it for Canfactory to have the first go.

Rowanside,

You're thinking of Findlay's brother, David. Both are in the photo.
