My family has been closely connected with the loup cottage caravan site since 1937 to present day. while no one knew for certain what this was I was always told it was part of an old jetty which served the area. I see something on old maps called "Ann's lodge" across the road from Loup cottage which we always called " the orchard". Could it have served this house in the early 19th century?

Just beyond Loup Cottage, as the road veered to the right was a gated-field pathway to where we used to camp. The area was known to us as the "Camels humps". Others may have known it as the "The Viaduct".

Just love to see old topics being rejuvenated by new members.

I stopped and filled my lungs at both these spots, particularly the second. And I wish folk wouldn't paint on the rocks:

I recall years ago someone painted 'Jesus saves' on the big rock. Someone painted below it 'but Dalglish nets the rebound!'

What a tremendous photo. I don't think I was ever at the greasy pole on a summer's afternoon without some of that group being around. Although I recognise some of them I'll leave it for Canfactory to have the first go.
