Yes, the old RAOC just before Irvine Central Hospital ,coming from Kilwinning,and just before its boundary with Irvine Central was the Irvine sign post.
Princess Anne also took part in horseriding comps.at the Rowallan Estate.

I would imagine you are right Hughie. Where was the Eglinton Estate? I know it was taken over by the War Department during the war. As To my Aunt Margaret's place - whether they were called prefabs or bungalows I dont know. As I said all very vague. Last time I visited would have been about 1953 when I was six or seven.
