little plum wrote:FlyingAl, I can only assume your last photos are dated. On the second image, top left, there is some waste ground behind the houses which face on to the boating ponds. Only recently when passing this area in Saltcoats I noticed a giant crane situated behind these houses. My immediate thought was the ground is being redeveloped . This doesn't show up on your photo, hence my reasoning for assuming the photos are dated. :D
Hi LP,

yes, the last 3 are dated and not from my recent flight, sorry for the confusion, that area now looks like this :)

the older photo was just before they started work on that area.

does anyone know the point of the new outcrops in the harbour, some kind of sea defence maybe?

cheers

Robert, It's a very empty looking Ardeer Factory. I can still recognise some of the buildings, I wish I could do that thing George can do with images. Let me explain, when your cursor passes over the image it's name appears. :D

P.S. thanks for the update Al.

What is the piece of ground at the top of the photo that looks like a football ground, with a running track ?

Before I left Ardeer in '91 I remember them building a running track onsite for anyone to use who were at work usually at lunch breaks, this looks where it was built.
