Re: Auchenharvie Academy
I can remember a really tiny English teacher with the nickname calimero from the cartoon, she was so small she would stand on a chair to give the belt.
Mrs Leggit English " who is still alive" she remarried but can't remember her name afterwards.
One of my favourite teachers was Mr Smith chemistry

I couldn't believe it when you said that Mrs leggit was still alive, I'm getting old so she must be ancient
. I remember the teacher claimers, she was tiny and had a bit of trouble controlling us, I have some really good memories of auchenharvie school and even although I've been in Australia for longer than I lived in saltcoats I still miss it, especially arran, anyway it was good to remember the old days!!!
