My sisters and I were always artistic, looked on as a waste of time in our day (take up typing!)! It was my first love. I remember drawing, crayoning and painting from an early age. Water colours came lately but I think they are my favourite medium, though it takes some thought. The light or white in a watercolour is usually the plain paper, difficult to get back if you've applied colour!

Morag, as a keen gardner and working in a garden centre your paintings of the calla lillies & Poinsetta
are awsome. More power to your brushes. :good:

Gorgeous paintings, Morag; I too liked the lilies especially.

Painting that well must give you a lot of pleasure and satisfaction ; so don't let 3T seduce you into neglecting it too much !

I'm sure Morag will confirm that an artist will go through every human emotion during their work, and at the end will still feel uncertain.

The uncertainty is a given and the need to 'stop before you muck things up' is difficult. The emotion thing I got with oils, but maybe that was because of my age then  . Watercolour, having come late to my life, I find more lost time...I don't really remember what I'm doing, I'm just doing. :smt102 maybe because you have to focus, as L.P. has said, on a reverse technique, i.e. painting in the darker shades in layers.True watercolours don't use white paint though it is available.
Again, thank you for your lovely comments, I'm quite humbled

That'd probably be my ideal place to work, Bobby, lucky you! :D

Morag, Have you sold many paintings? If you find there are too many filling up your drawers (so to speak), perhaps we could make some arrangement to sell some and share the profits between yourself and the 3T social fund. I'm sure that BobbyDarg would be interested...
I'm still saving up for a signature.
