Saltcoats Multiview 1960

Post by georgersweir »

This multiview card was posted in Ardrossan in August 1960. I'm sure all of the views will be familiar to the locals. Note that the Ardrossan sunken gardens and war memorial are included in the Saltcoats scenery (even when the view is from the Ardrossan side) :)

I'm still saving up for a signature.

That looks like Mr. Hamilton, the Bathmaster, in the pool shot.

If your photo, like mine, magnifies twice he's an easy figure to pick out in his 'whites'.

And, if I had een like a hoolit I'd maybe be able to pick out myself. I have a vague memory of Mr. Hamilton standing there one day while a photo was being taken.

From the Montgomerie pier topic...

this picture was in the threetowners photo forum a few months back, it was suggested by Morag that the men were discussing the whereabouts of my faither.

Clearly its time to repeat this gem - and wonder if they ever discovered the whereabouts of Meekan's faither

I was looking at the multi-view postcard of Saltcoats and in that oval centre pic looked a the man with the bunnet and jaiket and thought '...no, it canny be!'

I could ask where you left it David, but I dont think that would help :D Usually an avatar is uploaded from your own machine, and you can upload it through the User Control Panel - Profile - Edit Avatar. You just need to find it on your own machine.

Come back again if you are still have problems.

Thank you Meg. I tried to download the old one but it says it is to big so I have to fathom out how to shrink it a bit,
My old aviator hadn't gone anywhere. I just got fed up with so many failed attempts at logging on that I just re registered. Now I am classed as a newcomer so have to start from scratch again, GETTING THERE, BUT SLOWLY.
Thanks again
David.
