Would it be Loanhead Road her Gran stayed, just across Parkhouse Road from Kirkhall Gardens?

And did she learn her shot putting skills pitching stanes with you in Kirkhall Drive

I recall, as a Cub, having to stand in line outside our hut on Boglemart as the Queen went past. We were instructed to stand still but as she went past she waved and I couldn't resist waving back. I am pretty certain it was her tour of the UK following the coronation so somewhere around 54-55 I'd guess. She was heading for Saltcoats but I have no idea where she had come from, other than Buck House.

Name of the band .......haven't a clue....Chase??
Hi Stivis,

The name the band Tommy Newell and Colin Brown were in was "Vision" in the early days of the band. I can remember them playing at the hall across the road from the High School. Tommy and Colin both stayed on Glencairn Street, Tommy opposite and just up from the A1 bus garage and Colin on the same side at the top of the hill on the bend between Mayfield Road and Graham Avenue. Anyone know where they are now?

I heard Andy Cameron say on his radio show 2 or 3 years ago that he used to visit his granny in Stevenston when he was a boy, does he qualify as famous?
