Photobucket ... Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Post by Hughie »

Photobucket has made a right mess of things. It's recommended that you don't use them.

Photobucket has annoyingly added some new code for those who post thumbnails. That's mostly those who post numerous photos within the same post.

The new added code is ?action=view&current= and the purpose is to take those who click on the thumbnail to the poster's photobucket album. I presume photobucket are doing this so they can display ads. I think we'd all prefer to see the full sized image as in the past.

You may want to delete the above code and also consider making your album private. A complaint to photobucket would also not do any harm, more so if you have a paying account.

Hi Hughie,
I,ve just recently deleted 1 of my photo posts because of this, I thought I had a problem at this end. Thanks for letting us know as I was fed up running clean/cure programmes. The code you refer to , is this included in the codes when you paste on a post. :?

Yes LP. Just delete the code below from the code you paste into a post.

?action=view&current=

It will then work the way it has in the past. Use the preview button before posting to see if you got it right.

You're all going to laugh at me, but I don't care. I'm hopeless with computers.
I have never understood why we cannot just cut and paste photos into our messages.

This is a bit of a cheat and a cheek. As you say Hughie, it allows access to folks albums without their implicit say so. I don't think that I have anything to hide but that's not really the point is it? I've sent my concern to Photobucket!

Thanks for the 'heads up' on that cos I hadn't noticed then I clicked on one of our members thumbnails. Grrrr!

I have never really got into photobucket
but the last few days I have and my account is
still there. I was at my daughters the other day
and she showed me what to do and posted something
that I said was a trial I said you did not send that and
she laughed I have managed to download my photos
but the instructions she gave me I cannot fathom
as her screen was different to mine. I want to get it
ready for the new arrival in 4 weeks time . I could not find
where you can paste it will give it another go and see what
happens cheers everyone maggie

After you copy the code from Photobucket, Maggie. Go to the message you are compiling and click with your right mouse within that post then select Paste from the drop down menu. Use the preview button to see how it looks before posting if you like. Practice in the Members Only Area if you wish.

Maggie hen, We're all excited for you and the arrival of your first grandchild. :D

Bumped as a reminder. Using the information in the first post in this topic will help show just the photo and not all the advertising.

Recently I have had problems with photobucket, when uploading images I've had a failure. I have repeated the procedure only to discover two images, and after posting I don't know which one to delete. Tonight while using photobucket my security software posted an alert and I was unable to upload an image. I don't think this is a problem with the site , but any suggestions would be appreciated
