You must have got Stevie to do the joinery work there Chriso. Looks good.

Edit. I meant to add, you might be equally as capable yourself of course. :)

Looking down Nineyard Street, Saltcoats.
The building for sale on the right I'm sure used to be a Bank a number of years ago.

the site of the Saracens Head is still vacant.the new houses are down by that point nearer the Pan Brae.the bank on the corner was the Royal Bank of Scotland.

In the 50's and early 60's it was the Royal Bank. A good friend, John Rae, has father was the manager and they lived in the building. Oddly enough, another good friend, Dick McConnachie, his father was manager of the Ardrossan branch of RBS and they too lived above the bank.

wellparkno9. Not being a saltcoats resident I meant the general site area when referring to the Saracen Head/Grange location.
And that is very close to the flats that were built there in the past few years.

Thanks Retsum for confirming that the bank was R.B.O.S.

Wasn't it also the Head Office of AT Mays before they sold out?

Nice shots, Michael. There used to be a structure on top of the Windy Ha' which we noticed some time ago in a photo taken from Dockhead Street. At first we mistook it for the spire of the Landsborough Church. We can probably date when it was taken down by the car in this shot.
