Mac's Bar - Our Virtual Cafe

Post by Mac »

Chatterbox - The Virtual Cafe has now been renamed 'Mac's Bar - Our Virtual Cafe'
in honour of our late moderator, Mac (Norman McLaren).
=======================================================================================

Hello and welcome to Chatterbox - your Virtual Cafe.

Drop in here for a virtual chat or a wee banter with friends.
Get yourself a wee drink - coffee, tea and even alcoholic beverages are on the house so help yourself (You'll find them in your kitchen!) Nuts, nibbles (and chocolate, of course) are also available.
Pull up a chair, a bucket or sit on the sofa and chatter away to your hearts content.

Hi there Hughie. Hope you don't mind me opening this wee cafe. Thought it might be useful for those times where posts tend to wander from one topic to another.

Anyway, I'll just sit here wi' a wee dram of The Macallan and see whit transpires. :D

Water has to be blood temperature for me to go swimming these days! I'm a good paddler though :D

A wee deaf drinking joke:

A man was sitting in a bar and noticed a group of people using sign language. He also noticed that the bartender was using sign language to speak to them.

When the bartender returned to him, the man asked how he had learned to use sign language. The bartender explained that these were regular customers and had taught him to speak in sign.

The man thought that was great.

A few minutes later the man noticed that the people in the group were waving their hands around very wildly.

The bartender looked over and signed "Now cut that out! I warned you!" and threw the group out of the bar.

The man asked why he had done that and the bartender said, "If I told them once I told them 100 times - NO SINGING IN THE BAR!"

I didn't learn to swim until my 30's when I was teaching my kids how. Haven't any skills as a swimmer and canny even float  , and, like mac, can't take cold water, my husband used to say I liked it to be soup! Think I must be part cat.

Mrs Hughie tried to learn to swim about ten years ago. The instructer told her she was like a broken doon washing machine - she tells the story about the wee boy in the pool asking her what level she was on - he was on level two. Mrs Hughie says I'm still on level nothing. So the wee boy shouts to his pals hey she's on level nothing.

My late eldest brother was a swimming coach at Auchenharvie. I'm told there is a perpetual trophy bearing his name at the swimming club there. Can anyone vouch for that.
Mr Hughie :)
