Commonwealth Games "Glasgow 2014"

Great news that Glasgow is going to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

It really is a great thing for Scotland and Glasgow in particular. When we had
the games in Melbourne last year the place was absolutely jumping.

The theme for our games was centered around the Yarra River in the heart of Melbourne - you probably saw those floating fish, one for each country participating. It'll be interesting to see what Glasgow's theme will be.

Good news for Scotland, in Melbourne they gave all the medallists a toy koala bear. Wonder what it will be in Glasgow. I suppose to stay neutral a Partick Thistle scarf and a bottle of Irn Bru would be appropriate.

Me and oor Betty will be picking up Catherine and sister Betty at Melbourne Airport. Our Betty is very much looking forward to meeting the two sisters. After we left Scotland they used to do her mum's hair for her - think they lived across the road at the time doon the bottom end of Stevenston.
