4. The bridge at St Andrew's features in the old joke about the Amercian tourist golfer who said to his caddy at the end of his round "Gee, I'm so disgusted with my score, I could just jump off that bridge into the burn and drown myself", and the caddy growled "dinna boather - ye couldnae keep your heid doon long enough".
