Reading some of the Condolences from the Celtic support.. suggests to me Walter was a true gentleman.

brian f, Sad news .. he was indeed a true gent, held in the same high regard among Celtic fans as Tommy Burns was among the Rangers support.

As well as his achievements at Rangers he also turned round the fortunes of the national team after Berti Vogts.

Yes, Walter definitely had us playing some good football during his stint as national team boss.

I had missed this when it was first transmitted, so thanks Brian for posting. I enjoyed it if its ok to say that about a memorial service. He certainly was loved and admired by most people. The last time I was in the cathedral, I was at the service for those who perished in the Ibrox disaster in 1971
