IN MEMORIAM

ANDERSON - In loving memory of my father, Dalrymple Muir, died August 28 1970.
You never said goodbye to me,
Perhaps it's just as well;
I never could have said goodbye,
To one I loved so well.
My heart still aches with sadness,
My secret tears still flow,
For what it meant to lose you, dad,
No one will ever know.

Oh my darling how I miss you.
Miss you more than tongue can tell;
I have lost you, Christ has found you,
He that doeth all things well.
The wound is deep, it will not heal,
Only God knows how I feel;
To hide the sorrow, I always try,
To laugh with others, alone I cry.
With aching heart, I whisper low,
God bless you Dal, I loved you so.
Forgive me Lord if I should weep,
For the husband I loved and could not keep;
These words are written with deep regret,
From the heart of his wife, who will never forget.
Inserted by his loving wife Peggy, 14 Ivanhoe Drive, Saltcoats.

BARR - In loving memory of my dear brother Drew, died August 24 1969.

Many of us, of a certain age, will fondly remember Mr Ermo Marroni alias "The Top Marroni." His chip shop thankfully, certainly for me, was always still open when the last A.A. bus (Ayr to Ardrossan via Irvine) arrived at the top of Glasgow Street just short of midnight. And many a fine fish supper I enjoyed as I walked the rest of my way home.

And here is the entrance to Mr Marroni's fish and chip shop - the first entrance on the way down Glasgow Street on the left. Best fish supper in the three towns at that time from what I recall.
