It does not need a special day,
To bring you to our minds,
For days without a thought of you,
Are very hard to find.
They say in time you do forget,
For some that may be true,
But no morning breaks, no night returns,
Without a thought of you.

We used to sit and talk awhile,
When you were feeling blue,
We'd try to cheer you up somehow,
When in our hearts we knew,
God may call at any time,
And we would have to part,
God has you in his keeping,
But you're always in our hearts.

What it meant to part that day.
I lived in hope, I prayed in vain,
