Thank you all for your good wishes. I'm only moving two streets away, so it's not quite as drastic as a more distant move; but daunting enough, I'll admit. Moving from a rather run-down house to a bungalow, where my father won't have to negotiate the stairs and has ready access to bathroom and toilet.

Thanks, Susan. I'm assuming this acknowledgment is for a former workmate of mine in Winton Foundry, Mathew Orr. I remember Matha living at the above address in the early sixties. He's remembered as a regular player for Winton Rovers in the following post:

The first of the In Memoriam notices from 21st July 1972.

IN MEMORIAM

ALLAN - In loving memory of my dear husband, and our dear father, Robert, died 23rd July 1970.
Each day I die a little more,
Each night my tears they fall,
To live my life without you,
Is the hardest part of all.
I receive the strength I need,
When life seems more than I can bear,
Maybe that's the way God works,
In answer to a prayer.

We think about you always,
Memories never die.
Inserted by his daughter, Margaret, son-in-law Bobby and grandson Alan, 36 Braidwood Road, Kilwinning.

ALLAN - In loving memory of our dear father and papa, Robert Allan, died 21st July 1970.

We cannot bring the old days back,
His voice we cannot hear,
But still we have beautiful memories,
Of the father we loved so dear.
