Private William Radcliffe, (31), died from wounds received in action; husband of Mrs Annie Begg Radcliffe, 24 Hill Street, Aberdeen, and father of three young children; and son of Mr and Mrs J. Radcliffe, Old Dock Gates, Ardrossan. Four weeks earlier William’s brother, James, was killed in action: -

Private Robert Ramsay was killed in action; son of Alexander and Jessica Ramsay, Shore Road Stevenston. Mr and Mrs Ramsay earlier lost another son, James, in action: -

It’s so sad to see the faces of all these young men who didn’t come back from the First World War instead of just a list of names on the 3 towns war memorials. Thanks for doing all this PT - it’s been a huge undertaking - George would have been so proud. Maybe for some of the newer members, you could give some of George’s history at the conclusion of this topic - I think you said that would be around next month.
