Hi all - BBC are intending to visit Saltcoats on the evening of Thursday 2nd June to see the beacon being lit to mark the Queen's jubilee.

During the live broadcast we are interested in speaking to people who remember the Queen's visit to the area in 1956.

Anyone on here still live locally with fond recollections of that day?

Be great to hear from you if so. Please feel free to get in touch with me - alistair.sargent.ext@bbc.co.uk if you could be interested.

Cheers
Alistair

Could It Be She visited twice? If She was seen going through Vernon Street and She was also seen in Dockhead street, She must have been here twice.
