Great pictures, can see a blue hap over a house at The Braes where roof blew off in last week's storm.

A short flight over the Black Powder Forest at Ardeer. It’s the largest semi-natural woodland in North Ayrshire. Although originally a pine plantation, natural colonisation by native tree species means that it now contains more native broadleaved trees than pines.

Africa House, dismantled stone by stone after the 1938 Empire Exhibition in Glasgow and rebuilt at the "Dinnimit".

I was just thinking, why not fix it up? I'm sure it could be put to good use and, besides, attract visitors.

Morag, I'm no businessman, engineer or builder, but I'm guessing that the economics of refurbishing Africa House just don't stack-up. That is, I'm guessing it would cost a 6-figure sum to restore the building, and it would take many years to get a return on that investment.

A short flight up Glen Banks, a wooded glen in Saltcoats. No spectacular autumn colours were on display: the early storm we had a few weeks ago turned most of the leaves brown, and I was a bit late to catch the laves at their peak anyway.

The archaeological investigations currently taking place at Auchenharvie Park. Following some significant archaeological finds nearby in the past, this survey is being done to check for anything else of archaeological interest before a new school is built there.

Brilliant, Iain. That was a great video of the situation. Think I might get back into the metal detecting.
