Don't know if this a courtship ritual or a dispute. The one on the right seems unmoved whatever it is. I think they are terns but I am no expert. The shot was taken recently on a visit to our daughter in Perth (WA).

I'm no twitcher but it looks to me that the bird on the left is a youngster and is demanding food from its parent.

Hi Retsum, This is a great photo of an adult and juvenile Greater Crested Tern. The juvenile is displaying begging behaviour for food.
