The English Premier league
Re: The English Premier league
I think it would be very rare for a manager to resign these days, they have much more to gain £££ if they get fired.

I think the Chelsea players have thrown their toys out the pram again. Can't see conte lasting long now.

Unbelievable- How Liverpool have only lost one game all season and still finished a point behind Man City.
Never mind a "consolation" awaits them if they beat Spurs in the champion league final on the 1 June.
Times have changed...

Scotlands and Norwich centre back Grant Hanley scores the first goal* in this years 19/20 EPL as Liverpool thrashed Norwich City 4-1 at Anfield last night. Liverpool looked a bit out of place at the back, although it's early days, I tip them to win this year. Who is your choice?

I think "Lamps" has just discovered the job ahead of him at Chelsea.

True Brian, this is what annoys me about the English premiership its just a cattle market, out with Leicester you don't win the league you buy it.

Re: The English Premier league
I'm not troubled by this but has anyone else noticed the numerous high profile 'live television' matches that seem to be allocated to female assistant referee, Sian Massey-Ellis, and how she always seems to be on the far touchline where she is seen more than the nearside assistant?
Personally, I think she is exceptionally good but I wouldn't expect to see her more than anyone else!
Incidentally, and I hope this doesn't take us off topic but I also note that the highly prestigious UEFA Super Cup Final in Istanbul tomorrow night between Liverpool and Chelsea is to be refereed by Stephanie Frappart of France.
Changing times indeed in the football world!

Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

PT, good luck to her but I must admit some of the refereeing in the women's world cup was pretty shocking. With the financial input into the women's game in general I think the standards of refereeing will get better.

Bonzo,
Do you know whether or not any men officiated in the middle of the park or on the lines at the Women's World Cup Finals? I don't think they did but I stand to be corrected.

I underestimated that match. Just following on BBC text. Looks like extra time / penalties, and how did the Ref perform..Penny Tray wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 2:07 pm
