For those researching family in the three towns area.

Dog Track

I've found my great grandfather worked as a watchman at the Dog track. Where was this? and isa it still there? Any assistance welcomed. Peter's been great at hellping so far. M :!:

Hi Martiboy

If it is the dog track in Stevenston you are talking about - if coming from Saltcoats, carry along Canal Street, past what would have been the Maple Leaf, under the railway bridge, and continue along past Auchenharvie until you go into Stevenston and the dog track was on the right hand side, where the road divided (now a roundabout) to either go right to the dog track or left to go into Stevenston town. The dog track is no longer there.

Thanks to you meg for this. I spent a lot of my youth arund the three towns in the summer. Was last down about a year ago and big changes. Do you know when the track closed? M
