UNITED FREE COLLEGES

Ardrossan United Free Presbytery, while of the opinion that it is inopportune to have any appointment made, has sent the following nominations for the New Testament Chair in Glasgow College: - Professor Moffat and the Rev. Dr. W. M. MacGregor.

The same nominations were made for the Principalship, while the Rev. Dr. A. B. MacAulay was nominated for the Chair of Dogmatics, and Professor P. Carnegie Simpson for the Chair of Church History in the event of Professor Moffat being transferred.

PUBLIC-HOUSE MANAGER REFUSED MEMBERSHIP OF STEVENSTON CHURCH

Ardrossan U.F. Presbytery yesterday decided by a majority that Mr James Forrester, whom the kirk session of Stevenston U.F. Church had refused to accept as a member on account of his position as a manager of a public-house, has a perfect legal right to join that church, but recommend him, in the circumstances, to attach himself to another church holding the same principles.
