STEVENSTON MINERS’ STRIKE – OVER 500 MEN IDLE

The Auchenharvie miners yesterday lifted their graith from the pits, and have gone on strike for an increase of wages.

At present the rate is the same as in other Ayrshire collieries, but they want to receive the pay of 7s 3d per day which is paid in other counties.

Between 500 and 600 men are out.
