ARDROSSAN SCHOOL BOARD

On Thursday afternoon this board met in the secretary’s office – Provost Barr in the chair.

The Clerk reported the following as the prices of sites and contracts for new schools, the building of which has just commenced: -

Ardrossan (No. 2) School, £5,860; Saltcoats School, £5,600.

He also intimated that he had applied to the Public Works Loan Commission for £10,000 payable in 50 yearly instalments, and he had received a form from the Commissioners for filling up.

The Clerk’s action in the matter was approved.

Messrs Renfrew Brothers, engineers, Irvine, are to repair the Irvine Harbour dredger and tug-boat.

After dredging 10,500 tons from the river at Irvine last month, the dredger is now lying at the Black Wharf, Ardrossan.
