RUGBY – Played at Montfode Park, Ardrossan

Result: - Ardrossan Academicals, 8 points; 2nd Glasgow High School F.P., 21 points

A few minutes after the start the visitors were unfortunate to lose the services of J. Patrick through injury, and they had to play a man short throughout.

The Academicals played with the wind, and K. Bird early in the game scored a try which was not improved upon. The local side continued to have a fair share in the attacking but the Glasgow three-quarters showed superiority in speed and handling, and tries (unconverted) were scored by Paterson, H. C. Patrick, and Birrell.

At the interval the visitors lead by 9 points to 3.

In the second half the High School were for the most part aggressors, and tries were secured by Birrell, Hall (2), and Paterson. None of the tries was converted.

Lambert scored between the posts for the Academicals and Kinnear brought out full points.

The Ardrossan team: -

W. D. Kinnear, E. Davies, K. Bird, W. McLeod, J. Martin, F. J. Moore, P. P. Graham, J. Lambert, D. McKinnon, R. Ashcroft, A. K. Bird, A. Shedden, M. Bruce, R. Baxter, and J. Rees.
