GLASGOW HERALD
26 JUNE 1919
HIGHER HARBOUR DUES
Decision was given yesterday by the Commissioners conducting inquiries in Glasgow into Provisional Orders promoted by the Clyde Navigation Trust, the Trustees of the Port and Harbours of Greenock, and the Ardrossan Harbour Company to enable them to increase their rates and dues.
In each case the preamble of the Order was found proved, but in the case of Ardrossan the proposal to increase the maximum rates by 50 per cent on pre-war rates was restricted to 33 and 1/3 per cent.

The Irvine Herald
June 30, 1877
Ardrossan - Charge Against Cattle Dealers
At the Police Court, Ardrossan, on Saturday-before Provost Barr and Bailies Currie and Hogarth - Wm. Wilson, jun., and James Wilson, sen., cattle dealers, West Kilbride, were charged with the crime of theft or fraud. The complaint set forth that on the 6th June they shipped at Belfast, to be forwarded to Ardrossan, seven calves, which were consigned to James Wilson. On being landed at Ardrossan, in consequence of the consignee's failure to pay freight, the calves were detained by the Ardrossan Shipping Company, and placed in their cattle shed in Bute Place. It is alleged that after being placed there the defendants removed the calves, with a view of defeating the rights of the company in respect to the calves or the freight. The defendants did not appear, and on the application of the fiscal a warrant was granted for their apprehension.
