SALTCOATS TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – JOINT HOSPITAL

At a meeting of Saltcoats Town Council a report was submitted by the medical officer regarding the additional accommodation necessary at the Joint Hospital.

He considered that what would appear to make the hospital sufficient for dealing with all the cases was an additional block of 12 beds in two wards, with a nurses’ duty room, etc., and that if such a bock, consisting of a brick building, were erected on the upper side of the site it would preserve the general character and amenity of the whole hospital buildings.

The Council agreed to the suggestion of the medical officer, and it was also agreed to intimate to the Burgh of Ardrossan that the Council favour the extension proposed as being the most expedient and desirable in the interests of both authorities.
