HORSE SHOW AT SALTCOATS

Yesterday afternoon a horse show under the auspices of the Ardrossan and West Kilbride Farmers’ Society, was held in a field between Ardrossan and Saltcoats.

This is a new venture of the society and judging by appearances is going to be a success, the general opinion being that the exhibits were of a highly superior quality.

COURT OF SESSION – SALTCOATS BUILDER AND HIS WIFE

Lord Low heard further proof in the action of separation and aliment by Annie Duncan or Miller, 8 Winton Circus, Saltcoats, against her husband, James Miller, junior, builder, 58 Caledonia Road, Saltcoats.

The pursuer’s evidence was taken last session. Her case was that the defender had assaulted her.

James Miller, junior, the defender examined by Mr McClure, said he was 38 years of age. He was a master builder in Saltcoats. The pursuer was his cousin. They were married on April 2, 1902.

Cross-examined, witness never pressed his wife to put any money she had into his building speculations. His wife was not afraid of him. She was afraid of her housekeeping, not of him. He never said if she were dead, he would not attend her funeral. He did not ask his wife to remove her belongings from the house on May 21, 1903.

Lord Low made avizandum.
