SALTCOATS HOTEL LICENCE REFUSED

Applications were made at Saltcoats Licensing Court for the Saracen’s Head Hotel by Mr James Frew and Mrs Annie Wilson, Stevenston.

Mr Joseph Kirkland, writer, appeared for the applicants, and explained that if the licence was granted to Mrs Wilson, who intended purchasing the hotel, the other application would be withdrawn. He pointed out that the hotel was the only one licensed in the town, and was well adapted for the business. It had been licensed for a number of years. Mrs Wilson had considerable experience of the work in Muirkirk, and at present conducted a public-house in Stevenston.

Both applications were refused.
