DAD DIES AS CAR CRASHES
A young father of two died in a horrific road accident this morning and three others had to be cut free from the wrecked car.
Robert Todd, (24), unemployed painter, died instantly when the car he was driving careered through a roundabout in Stevenston, rolled over an embankment, ploughed through a road sign, and smashed into a lamp post.
The tragic crash happened at 1.30 a.m. and firemen from nearby Irvine North Station had to cut Mr. Todd, of 26 Cunninghame Road, Saltcoats, and three passengers free.
An emergency doctor rushed to the scene but said Mr Todd had died instantly.
