Halogen Convection Ovens

Post by Hughie »

Heard some good stories about Halogen Convection Ovens. Appears they can grill, bake, steam and barbecue, and in half of the time - self cleaning too? They don't appear too dear and there should be the saving on the ever rising cost of electricity if it cooks in half the time. Might sound her out to see if she'd like one for Christmas.
Any members use them?

Hughie, my new stove has convection if you want, I cooked a tri tip roast from frozen in 1.1/2 hours tonight. I've still to rtfm so it's always a new experience when I cook. But here's advice from my mum:
DON'T BUY A WOMAN A PRACTICAL GIFT for her birthday/anniversary/ Christmas...
if you're interested in the thing buy it, just don't make it a 'present'!

No, but it could mean I might have one next week for myself. I'll see if I can talk Bobby into getting you one. Anyway it'll be up for discussion in this week's men's kitchen.

BTW Netta, thanks for hosting our wee get-the-gither on Saturday when George and Sally O'Connor where over from Tasmania. In all there were eight of us from the three towns. :)

I was going to say Hughie that if you are going to buy it for a present, check the size of the lid - you might just be wearing it .....

It was good to have our pals, Sally and George to stay for a few days. Hope we can catch up with them in Tassie in Feb/Mar. Good day fares on the Spirit of Tasmania.
They have landed back in Tassie, just got a text.
Enjoyed our get-together on Sat. Shame the weather wasn't a bit kinder.

Hi John, below is the two vessels that go from Melbourne's Station Pier to Tasmania. One through the day and the other through the night. Last time we went it took twelve hours - flying takes under an hour.
