I'm relaxed about the prospect but it did annoy me a wee bit, when, having watched the match build-up, the game itself, and the after-match hysteria for 3 hours, that the first 11 minutes of the BBC News immediately thereafter was devoted to the victory over Australia with no mention of the plight of the Ukranians, the cost of living crisis, or the state of the National Health Service. And to end the said 'news programme' with a repeat of the goals.....!!!!! That was a bit much.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

It’s the old story where the Uk national news reflects things that are important to English viewers, if only, one of the other nations were to have some sporting success what would be the reaction be in England? Would it get the same over the top coverage? I think not.
Having said that and although I am not a fan of women’s football I think the girls have done well and deserve praise for their achievements so far, but not the hype that the English based media are embarrassing them with.
It is no wonder to me that the English find themselves in the same category as the Germans in world opinions.
