McCrindle's staff dances early 1970s

Post by down south »

McCrindle's shipyard and engineering business was a thriving concern in the 1970s ( see here and here )and here are some of the guests at a staff dance held in January 1970.

Bill McCrindle himself is in the picture, in the centre of the front row in the bow tie, with his wife next to him; and our old friend Margaret Smyth ( MaggieT ), whose then husband worked for McCrindle's, is also there, sixth from the left in the back row.

I think that's Mr. McCrindle, Senior, on the extreme right of the front row.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.

We also have a picture for the staff dance in January 1972. ( We have in fact seen this one before, but I thought I'd repeat it here as being likelier to be seen. )

Again we have Bill McCrindle and his wife prominent in the front row, holding hands. And the couple standing just behind Maria McCrindle's head are, again, Margaret Smyth and her then husband.

I'm thinking the man 5th from the left is John McCart.
