Random PHP error

Post by Hughie »

The PHP error message we are randomly seeing has been reported to our hosting company. That error relates to earlier versions of both the software and the PHP version.

Unsupported version of PHP

Post by Retsum »

When clicking on the threetowners today I got a message saying I was running an outdated and unsupported version of PHP and that I should upgrade to PHP 7.13 before upgrading further. I am ashamed to say I don't know anything about PHP. It did eventually let me in. I'm running Windows 10 - any advice?

This is a problem on the server and we've been trying to find the cause which is not apparent to anyone on the software support community. So I've commissioned a known expert into these matters, as it's way beyond my expertise.

In the meantime I'll lock this topic and merge it with the original topic and report any further news on this matter hopefully soon.

Members! In our endeavour to see if our board's problem has been fixed. We'd like you to:

Post lots of posts over the next few days and put the board under stress.

We need to test the fix that has been put in place.

Unfortunately I see the error is still there off and on - so still a work in progress. Time for bed here.

Anyone seeing the following problem - report it here please.

You are running an unsupported PHP version. Please upgrade to PHP 7.1.3 or higher before trying to install or update to phpBB 3.3

I was confronted with the ABOVE TEXT at 3.18 p.m. and 3.27 p.m. today. On both occasions, I was already logged in, had drafted two contributions, and it appeared when I tried to post them. I lost both contributions.

Same thing happened again 3.27 p.m. - if this is posted - it's working sometimes and not others
