SALTCOATS EAST U.P. CHURCH

The members and adherents of this congregation had a social meeting in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The Rev. George Philp, pastor of the church, who presided, delivered an excellent address, in the course of which he referred to the growing prosperity of the congregation.

The report of the session showed that 37 additions had been made to the membership, 13 being received into fellowship for the first time, and 24 by certificate. There had been 28 removals, 5 of which were by death. The number of names on the communion roll was 208.

The treasurer’s report showed that the funds were in a satisfactory state.

Vacancies among the managers, caused by retirement, were filled up.

The Sabbath school report was afterwards read and adopted.

The choir, under the leadership of William McInnes, sang a number of pieces, and several ladies and gentlemen contributed solos.
