FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE RAILWAY

Yesterday morning, between five and six o’clock, the body of a man was found lying on Glasgow & South-Western Railway near Auchenharvie Pit No. 5 siding.

It was afterwards identified as that of NEIL COYLE, a baker, residing in Vernon Street, Saltcoats.

The deceased was out of employment, and had left home early in the morning to go to Ardeer Factory in search of work. It is supposed that while walking on the line he was run down by a goods train proceeding to Ardrossan.

He was married, about 40, and leaves a wife and four of a family.
