Re: Scotland Football Team.
Aye Brian we went last night better crowd than I expected. There wasn't much for mrs b to jump up and down about . Not going over to Belgium I just hope we can keep it tight and not take too much of a doing.
Those wimin were in the nip.
Re: Scotland Football Team.
Steve Clarke comes across dour, but i also consider him an intelligent coach. No way will Scotland get hammered against Belgium . But what do i know...
Re: Scotland Football Team.
I think we were taught a bit of a football lesson tonight. Belgium really are a joy to watch.

Re: Scotland Football Team.
Another awful performance from the national team last night, & yet again another 0-4 drubbing at home from Belgium. Obviously it’s now showed up Steve Clarke’s limitations as a manager & was another uninspiring appointment by the sfa. He has to be ditched as soon as.
Funny thing is, & I dont normally do this, but I switched over to the Northern Ireland/Germany game. It was end to end from what I seen & Northern Ireland put in yet another good shift. And the crowd were , unlike at dreary old Hampden, giving the team full backing from start to finish.
And the Irish proved that you don’t have to have big names to put in good performances.

Re: Scotland Football Team.
34 years ago tonight Jock Stein died in Cardiff. I wonder if any of the current squad would make the team of that evening?
Scotland
GK 1 Jim Leighton (Aberdeen) Substituted off 46'
DF 2 Richard Gough (Dundee United)
DF 3 Maurice Malpas (Dundee United)
DF 4 Roy Aitken (Celtic)
DF 5 Alex McLeish (Aberdeen) Yellow card 3'
DF 6 Willie Miller (c) (Aberdeen)
MF 7 Steve Nicol (Liverpool)
MF 8 Gordon Strachan (Manchester United) Substituted off 61'
MF 10 Jim Bett (Aberdeen)
CF 9 Graeme Sharp (Everton)
CF 11 David Speedie (Chelsea)
Substitutes:
GK 12 Alan Rough (Hibernian) Substituted in 46'
DF 14 Paul McStay (Celtic)
MF 16 Davie Cooper (Rangers) Substituted in 61'
CF 15 Andy Gray (Aston Villa)
Manager: Jock Stein
I think Clarke is the man for the job but the defence needs to be sorted out as soon as. I would give Bates and McKenna the center half places and move Tierney to right back. I really don't know who I would have as keeper.
Last night's result I kind of expected (we haven't scored against Belgium since 2001)but Friday was a sickener.
Now we have 4 warm up games for the play off semi in March.
