Here now are the Ardrossan Academy sports results for 1972. There's also an action shot; purporting to be the start of the junior 400 metres. I doubt if that's correct; there's no junior 400 metres listed ( though that is no guarantee, since there are obviously other missing events in the lists ); but more to the point, I recognise Kenneth Anderson of 3rd year on the right, and he was placed in the intermediate 400 metres.

Here finally are the sports results for Ardrossan Academy in 1973. We also have a picture of the sports champions, which we've seen previously :

Ardrossan Academy held their annual sports at the Memorial Field last week. In the house championship Montfode were clear winners with 362 1/2 points, ahead of Stanley ( 345 ), Castle ( 240 ) and Laighdykes ( 237 1/2 ).

Girls' champions were Shona Kerr ( junior ), Mary Arnott ( intermediate ) and Elspeth Caskie ( senior ). Champion boys were Sam Leitch ( junior ), Brian McIntyre ( intermediate ) and Nelson Lee ( senior ).
