The derelict Seafield School

Post by Chico1968 »

Such a shame to see this magnificent Baronial style building in such a state.

What happened?
How did it get from one state to the other?

More On this and the most recent fire at the school.

Did this not become a care home at some time? Or am I thinking of another lovely building.

It may be that you are thinking of Abbotsford house which was converted into a care home and is just a few yards nearer the greasy pole.

If I remember right, it was always a care home in the sense that it was a City of Glasgow Corporation establishment for disadvantaged children and latterly an extension of Quarrier's Homes.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.
