Very nice chriso, it's amazing what a good zoom lens can do these days.
Out of curiosity though, what street are the row of houses in the photo in?

As far as I can make out Michael,if you look at the right hand side of the photo you can see a bridge. I can only think that is the Bridge across the road at canal street which replaced the old railway bridge.
I'm not sure where the houses are as the telephoto lens puts things out of perspective.

I was in Saltcoats earlier today chriso and stood atop that bridge at Canal street you mention. After a wee gander from there, I'm fairly sure the row of houses in your photo are in Parkend Road, Saltcoats.
Coming from Stevenston, it's a right turn from Canal Street into Guthrie Road just opposite Warden Motors, then further up the hill that part of Parkend Road is on the left.
