ROUGH SEA IN FIRTH OF CLYDE

Ardrossan:
A gale blew from the south-west all yesterday. Heavy seas were running in the firth. The Caledonian steamer plying to and from Arran was unable to take Ardrossan Harbour and had to proceed to Gourock, where passengers were landed.

Save for the Glasgow & South-Western Arran Steamer there were neither sailings nor arrivals at the harbour yesterday, a number of vessels ready for sea being wind-bound.
