LICENSING COURT AT SALTCOATS

Yesterday a Court for hearing applications for licenses was held in the Town Hall, Saltcoats. There was a large attendance of justices – Mr. A. Guthrie, presiding.

Andrew Rae McDowall was refused a grocer’s license for new premises in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

The application of Peter Dudgeon for a beer and porter license for a restaurant in Dockhead Street, Saltcoats, was also refused.

Archibald Watson, grocer, Stanley Place, Saltcoats, applied for a beer and porter license, but was refused.

Renewals were granted to William Campbell, public-house, Countess Street, Saltcoats, and Daniel Roberts, hotel, Princes Street, Ardrossan.

Killed in action, Private JOHN MAJOR, 2nd Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers - Theatre of war, France and Flanders – son of Thomas and Jeanie Major, Canal Street, Saltcoats.
