Eglinton School Christmas Party 1954

Post by Hughie »

Thanks to Frank Herbert for sending this photo to me. Frank reckons it was taken around 1954. If you can add to the names it would be appreciated or if you have a better copy I'd like to hear from you.
Replaced with better copy thanks to Christine and Maggie for forwarding it. :D Hughie

Re Schools we attended

Post by David Young »

An impossible request but worth a try.
I have recently uncovered my copies of the Ardrosan Academy School Magazines from 1950 to 1954 inclusive.
Ufortunately I'm missing the 1955 issue, which was my last year at the Academy and my photo would be in it as I was one of the prefects that year.
Can anybody help with that? As I have said, an impossible request; or is it???????

Thank you Morag. This photo must have been the year after I left because Dan Penal was the rector when I was a prefect and he also left in 1955.

Hughie,

I've been trying to enhance this photo using the copy of Arcsoft Photo Studio 5 for Canon that came bundled with my Canon Multi-function printer, scanner etc. & this is what I came up with. Couldn't manage to sharpen the faces but managed to repair some of the damaged parts.

Thanks, Bob. If we had a better copy to work on it would be great. Thanks for the effort from both you and Josephine.
Anyone have a copy of this photo or similar photos in their drawers?

Hi Hugh. 4th row Tammy Roy and (12) along Jean McCracken next to (13)Janet Dickson.
Great photo, can't remember the party. I recognise a lot of faces but can't put a name to them.
Cheers Jean

Hi Jean,

Nice to hear from you. Hope you and Harry will be coming to our re-union. See : http://threetowners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5351 Sorry you missed the last one at The Flask in Windmill Street in 2007. It'd be nice to have the attendance of an Australian Champion Haggis Hurler.

On another topic can you look at the photo at : http://threetowners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5452
