My mother attended this school and was awarded a DUX medal. Not sure what it meant. I know the school has long gone, but does anyone have any photos or know exactly where it was. ? Thanks

Hi Jackie, Welcome to threetowners. This is Glasgow Street Ardrossan in 1910, in the distance is Eglinton School. The corner on the right is Winton Street and it leads to Winton School which is still there.

We've never had success in tracing what happened to the original Eglinton Dux board or even a reasonable image of it. Perhaps you can see your mum's name on this poor copy. I can't make out own my name on there - Oh well! ;)

Hi Hughie, thanks for the add, and the great photos.
I managed to see my mothers name on the right as she had a short name Helen Aird. Now I know to aim for Glasgow street to get a feel.
Thank you 😁
