Yes, he deserved the title "The Voice of Scottish Rugby". He knew the game and players inside out and was always very fair (even when we played England!). If things got a bit heated on the pitch he would say: "There is a wee stramash down there. The referee will sort it out."

James Alexander Gordon, one of the most recognisable voices in British broadcasting , has died today aged 78.
Gordon read the classified football results on bbc radio ( grandstand) for 40 years before retiring in 2013.
He had a great tone that man .

On another night...
It’s telling that Allan McGregor has been one of Rangers’ best players tonight.

He’s made a couple of excellent saves and you have to say that while Gerrard’s men have been good, the scoreline flatters them.

An another night this could have been 2-4 or 3-4 quite comfortably.
